We recently were privileged to attend the annual meeting of the American Association of Law Librarians (AALL) in New Orleans.

This was a fantastic chance for us to meet our readers, talk about Law Journal Newsletters and about our parent company ALM, and in general, “meet and greet.”

One thing that truly surprised me—so it stuck in my mind—was how many conference attendees were not aware that we have 23 newsletters that report on virtually every practice center—and that we are available online (as anyone reading this blog will know) as well as in print. One woman in particular stands out, and I apologize for forgetting her name, but she was thrilled to find that we print a newsletter completely devoted to Patent Law. I’m not talking about IP here (we also have a newsletter for THAT practice area), but Patent itself.

She said: “This is such a specialized practice area, and patent attorneys are so particular about the information they receive; this newsletter is just perfect.”

Ahem! We think so…And we invite those of you who may be reading this blog to click on any newsletter title with which you are not familiar, and check it out. Since we provide in-depth analysis of the latest rulings, often written by the very attorneys who were involved in the cases, we feel we are a step ahead of the competition.

Anybody can give you a verdict, and there is a time and place for that, including just about all of the myriad ALM publications as well as our own newsletters. But we go a step further and provide you with the whys and hows these verdicts affect your practice areas. It’s an invaluable resource.

I invite you to “visit our virtual booth” on these pages, and take a look at what we have to offer!

Although same-sex marriages and divorces can now be granted anywhere in the country, there are a few unanswered questions in Pennsylvania regarding how legal relationships between same-sex couples — that are not marriages — should be treated.
