CAUSES OF ACTION: Breach of confidence ' wrongful use of idea; breach of implied-in-fact contract; fraud and deceit; misappropriation of a trade secret; intentional interference with contract/economic advantage; negligent interference with contract/economic advantage; conversion; and unjust enrichment.

COMPLAINT ALLEGATIONS: The plaintiff is founder and director of services for the Universal Intervention Corp., headquartered in Palm Springs. He is a trained Systemic Family Intervention Therapist. His late father was Bruce Malmuth, an award-winning director. In 1999, the plaintiff and his father registered a first draft of a work called “The Interventionist.” They also registered a series of re-writes that included new techniques entitled “Teen Wake Up Call” and “Extreme Crisis Intervention.” The plaintiff hired agents and the idea was pitched to an A&E executive. In Aug. 2004, the plaintiff discovered that A&E and GRB were producing a show based on the plaintiff's ideas.
