Two aviation industry leaders, Ray Sisson and Ed Wegel, have formed AVi8 Air Capital, a new commercial aircraft leasing company. The company will be headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, with a commercial office in Miami. Both co-founders will serve as the company’s executive chairman, and Wegel will assume CEO duties. The company will focus on building its fleet with new, narrowbody commercial aircraft and is in process with several leading global investment banks. Sisson was formerly president and CEO of AWAS. He has also served in several leadership positions at GE Capital Aviation Services. Wegel has over 30 years of experience in the airline industry, investment banking and aviation finance.
