Retail e-commerce was up 23.1% in the second quarter over the same period last year, the U.S. Census Bureau reported last month.
The $15.7 billion the government figured was spent in e-commerce in April, May and June was 1.7% of the estimated $919 billion in total retail spending for those months ' about the same as in the second quarter last year.
