I hope all of you had a wonderful summer. Over the summer we at Marketing The Law Firm have been working very hard to bring our subscribers cutting-edge marketing and public relations content. You will note that much of the September issue has a sales flavor. This is in part due to the overwhelming response to our new quarterly Sales in Law Firms Supplement that premieres with this September issue. We have some fabulous articles written by some of the best and most-informed individuals in this space. I invite you to give me your feedback on this new Supplement and to submit articles for the next Supplement ' coming in December.

I also wanted to take a moment to mention two programs that are coming up: one on September 30th and one on November 3rd. On September 30th from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m., Law Journal Newsletters' Web Audio Conference Division will present “Law Firms Under Stress … Opportunities & Threats.” This Web audio conference event will take a look at the use of communications and public relations in dealing with mergers, defections, revenue and attorneys in crisis. Richard Levick, President and CEO of Levick Strategic Communications, and Burkey Belser, President and Creative Director of Greenfield Belser Ltd., will co-present this program together with several partners and executives of leading law firms. For further information and to register go to www.ljnonline.com. Also, my dear colleague Guy Alvarez and his wonderful company, Business Development Institute, in conjunction with the PM Forum of North America, will present “Building New Business With Breakthrough Relationships: Relationship Marketing and Business Development in the Professional Services Sector.” The program will be held on November 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Microsoft Customer Briefing Center in New York City.
