With the very fine article by Tracy Holotuk as the centerpiece, I am pleased to announce the launch of the MLF Canadian 20 competition. The criteria for inclusion on this list will be the same as that used for the MLF 50, with the exception that firms with 50 attorneys or more will be eligible to compete. Previously, I had indicated that law firms of 100 or more attorneys would be eligible. I have since revised that number to enable more firms to compete. The criteria featured on page 4 is very comprehensive, and while the firms that cover as many aspects of the criteria will have a better positioning in the rankings, those firms that stand out in one or more of the criteria will be recognized accordingly. This listing is being created with a great deal of thought and attention to detail and content. My only advice to entrants is to really think through the criteria, and what you want your firm to convey in those areas you decide to pursue. I look forward to receiving entries from as many firms in Canada as possible. The MLF Canadian 20 will be published in ranked order in the June issue of MLF.

I also wanted to welcome a new member to our Board of Editors. Bill Crooks is the Legal Marketing Executive Search Consultant at Priority Search International in Lake Mary, Florida. Over the last 3 years Bill has filled 14 AmLaw 100/200 CMO positions throughout the U.S, and over 50 practice group and/or manager positions in AmLaw 100/200 firms. Bill will bring some real perspective and in depth knowledge of the legal marketing industry to our publication and I look forward to his contributions.
