Texas App. Court's Ruling in Suit By Band Member's Lawyer
A.B. Quintanilla III, founding member and leader of the Latin music group Kumbia Kings, prevailed on appeal in a dispute with a Texas attorney who claimed Quintanilla conspired to cut the lawyer out of his alleged share of a settlement. Iron Tigga LLC v. Law Offices of David Showalter LLP, 13-21-000459 (2022).
Houston-based Law Offices of David Showalter sued Quintanilla, brother of the deceased Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla, alleging A.B. Quintanilla and his father conspired to interfere in the law firm's fee agreement in connection with a dispute over band profits owed to three other band members.
