Simplifying The e-Discovery Process For Attorneys: Relationships, Involvement, Strategy & More

One of the key contributions an e-discovery consultant brings to the electronic data discovery (EDD) process is simplification and credibility. EDD projects continue to increase in volume and complexity, as do the technologies and processes required to manage them successfully, and attorneys often get drawn into the complexity for one of three reasons:

  • Attorneys by nature want to control as many aspects of the case as possible;
  • At some point, many attorneys have been disappointed by vendors that didn't deliver as promised; and
  • The EDD consultant didn't design a process that adequately involves the attorney in the decision-making process.
