Reinsurer Acting As TPA Can Be Liable for Bad Faith Damages
The U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island recently ruled that a reinsurer that is also acting as a third party claims administrator can be subject to bad faith damages and tortious interference with contractual relations when it mishandles claims it is adjusting and reinsuring.
