Massachusetts High Court Upholds Use of Catastrophe Models
The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court issued the first judicial decision to address the use of computer catastrophe models as evidence in January. The court found 'substantial evidence' to support using hurricane models to develop homeowners insurance rates for the Massachusetts Property Insurance Underwriting Association (or FAIR Plan).
