News from Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP: James “Jim” Maxson, a leading practitioner in the life settlement industry, has joined the firm's Atlanta office. Maxson teams with MMM partner Ward Bondurant to co-chair a newly formed Life Settlements Group. Maxson was formerly Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Habersham Funding, LLC, a life settlement provider. Tony Roehl has rejoined the firm. Roehl spent a year with Nationwide Insurance as Assistant General Counsel in the office of the General Counsel supporting the commercial insurance group. He rejoins the firm with this additional experience and will continue to pursue his specialty practice in insurance regulatory, mergers and acquisitions and complex multi-state projects. Jason Cummings has joined the Insurance Group as an associate.
