Leslie D. Curran, Plave Koch PLC (Reston, VA); Joseph J. Fittante, Larkin Hoffman Daly & Lindgren Ltd. (Minneapolis); and Michael D. Joblove, Genovese, Joblove & Battista PA (Miami) have been nominated as candidates for the Governing Committee of the ABA Franchise Forum. Committee members will serve three-year terms. Forum members will vote during the forum's annual business meeting on Oct. 16, 2009, in Toronto, Canada.

J. Clarence Evans, who was counsel to the founders of Kentucky Fried Chicken Corp., died on May 19. According to an obituary at NashvillePost.com, Evans represented Jack Massey and John Y. Brown Jr. when they bought Kentucky Fried Chicken from its founder, Colonel Harland Sanders, and built it into a major franchise operation. Evans was one of the original directors of the franchisor.
