Gillette have formed the new Franchise Group at Southfield, MI-based Maddin, Hauser, Wartell, Roth & Heller, P.C. Each was already at the firm and providing franchise litigation and transaction services. “At a minimum, everyone in the group has been practicing franchise law for at least five years; Stuart Bordman, alone, has for more than 30 years,” said Turner. (A Q&A with Turner was published in the August 2010 issue of FBLA.) “We are seeing a greater demand in Michigan and the Midwest for these services. Despite the economy, the franchise industry has continued to grow over the last 10 years. In fact, now is an even more promising time for potential franchisees to buy into a proven business model instead of starting their own business. It is also a great time to purchase real estate, with the market down and space available. Quite a bit of area for growth.”
