Hunton & Williams LLP has announced the promotion to counsel of Rita Davis of the firm's complex commercial litigation practice group. Davis focuses her practice on insurance coverage disputes, business torts, complex commercial disputes, personal injury litigation and alcohol beverage control regulation. Her practice spans international, federal, state and local levels. Davis is also dedicated to serving the community and has devoted nearly 1,000 hours to pro bono work. She has served as an officer in a local bar association, twice as president, and has received several significant service awards. Davis joined the firm in 2001.

Brian Osias, a partner in McCarter & English, LLP's Insurance Coverage and Complex Commercial Litigation Group, was recently selected by the New Jersey Law Journal for inclusion in its 2012 annual list of “New Leaders of the Bar.” According to its Editor-in-Chief, the NJLJ chooses attorneys under the age of 40 who “are emblematic of the next wave of leadership of the New Jersey bar, based on their achievements so far in their careers.” The NJLJ's criteria for selection of “these rising stars are that they have developed practice niches, amassed strong books of business, demonstrated leadership qualities, shown expertise in litigation or transactional work and committed themselves to pro bono, charitable and professional volunteer work.” The New Jersey Law Journal is a sister publication of this newsletter.
