The practice of law since the pandemic has modernized in many ways. The increased amount of remote depositions and court appearances combined with keeping hybrid work schedules has transferred work from inside office buildings to virtual platforms accessible from most any location. As such, many firms or lawyers have reevaluated the need and budget for traditional physical office spaces.

One common way that attorneys have downsized their monthly overhead is by sharing office space with other legal practitioners or nonlegal professionals. Sharing office space is a useful way to save on the costs of commercial leases, office supplies, and more. Additionally, some lawyers also enjoy sharing office space with other lawyers or professionals as a way of maintaining camaraderie. This is particularly the case for solo practitioners who may otherwise have fewer opportunities to discuss the law with other attorneys on a regular basis.
